Personal Health Information
ElectricianEducation.com is pleased to present this collection of health
information of use to electricians. As a working electrician for about thirty
years, I was luck enough not to have to endure injury which needed medical
treatment. I attribute this situation to my attention to my work environment and
to my fear of pain. So I never needed a stitch or splint as a result of my work.
But now as an older person I notice that my neck can be a problem at times,
as can my ankle, and knee and hip. An accumulation of repeated stress on joints
does eventually produce pain.
This information is presented in hopes that working electricians will be
informed about how to take care of themselves so they can continue to work. And
also so that they can minimize the injury accumulation which is inevitable.
I had a long career as a working electrician. When I would meet a fellow
electrician while I was working, we'd all ask one another how was it going?
Meaning how hard is the work. We would then look down at our hands to see if we
had more than a cut or two. If no cuts were notices we'd say that everything was
great.
Good luck and stay healthy.
