Memory Work

So what's your drivers' License Number? How about your social security Number? If you are a military veteran what is your service number? Sometimes it is useful to memorize stuff. The license exam prep material is no different.

The exam you will take is timed. This means there will only be a specific amount of time to answer all the questions. If you know quite a bit of information without needing reference, then you will have time to use on questions which are more difficult for you.

Memorization of article numbers is very important to grouping information in your memory. You should have knowledge that article 90 is the Introduction to the NEC, that article 100 contains definitions, article 110 is General Requirements, and on and on. So the first set of details to add to your memory are these article numbers:

90 100 110 200 210 220 230 240 250 300 310 400  402 430  450  500

Then go on to memorize these table numbers for starters:

110.16  250.66  250.122  310.13  310.16  430.248  430.250  Ch9T8 Appendix C

Let your friends and family help you.
Use 3x5 flash cards.  Or cut up pieces of paper. Or print and use this list.
Carry them in your pocket. Pull them out at a stop light.
Any technique which works for you will be fine.
